Sunshine vitamin 'protects the heart as well as bones,' researchers find
Vitamin D may protect against heart attacks and strokes on top of its traditional role in keeping bones strong.

Researchers found those with low blood levels of the sunshine vitamin were twice as likely to suffer heart failure, a heart attack or a stroke than those with higher levels.

The risk was still 62 per cent after adjusting for well-established risk factors such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol...READ ON >>>

'Second Thoughts about Fluoride,' Reports Scientific American

NEW YORK, Jan. 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- "Some recent studies suggest that

over-consumption of fluoride can raise the risks of disorders affecting teeth,

bones, the brain and the thyroid gland," reports Scientific American editors

(January 2008). "Scientific attitudes toward fluoridation may be starting to

shift," writes author Dan Fagin

"Fluoride, the most consumed drug in the USA, is deliberately added to 2/3 of

public water supplies theoretically to reduce tooth decay, but with no

scientifically-valid evidence proving safety or effectiveness," says lawyer

Paul Beeber, President, New York State Coalition Opposed to Fluoridation.

Nonfat, Low-Fat Milk Linked to Cancer
NEW YORK (Jan. 2) - The amount of calcium and vitamin D in the diet appears to have little or no impact on the risk of prostate cancer, but the consumption of low-fat or nonfat milk may increase the risk of the malignancy, according to the results of two studies published in the American Journal of Epidemiology.

Dietary calcium and dairy products have been thought to increase the risk of prostate cancer by affecting vitamin D metabolism. Data from several prospective studies have supported an association, but many other studies have failed to establish a link...READ ON >>>

Vaccines and Medical Experiments on Children, Minorities, Woman and Inmates (1845 - 2007)
Think U.S. health authorities have never conducted outrageous medical experiments on children, women, minorities, homosexuals and inmates? Think again: This timeline, originally put together by Dani Veracity (a NewsTarget reporter), has been edited and updated with recent vaccination experimentation programs in Maryland and New Jersey. Here's what's really happening in the United States when it comes to exploiting the public for medical experimentation:

(1845 - 1849) J. Marion Sims, later hailed as the "father of gynecology," performs medical experiments on enslaved African women without anesthesia. These women would usually die of infection soon after surgery....READ ON >>>

Scientists Say Broccoli can Cure Cancer
The FDA has long frowned upon anyone claiming that vegetables or superfoods cure cancer. It's been okay to say they "prevent" cancer, but a cure is apparently reserved only for the realm of drugs, surgery, chemotherapy and radiation (none of which actually cure anything, in reality). That's why this article is so interesting: it claims that compounds from broccoli could be used in a cure for cancer. And it's not just broccoli, it's other foods, too: cabbage, mustard greens, turnips and more. Regardless of the FDA's strongly biased opinions, the fact remains that foods and superfoods do cure cancer. Broccoli reverses...READ ON>>>

75% OF THE PHYSICIANS REFUSES CHEMOTHERAPY THEMSELVES

The great lack of trust is evident even amongst doctors. Polls and questionnaires show that three doctors out of four (75 per cent) would refuse any chemotherapy because of its ineffectiveness against the disease and its devastating effects on the entire human organism.

This is what many doctors and scientists have to say about chemotherapy:“The majority of the cancer patients in this country die because of chemotherapy, which does not cure breast, colon or lung cancer. This has been documented for over a decade and nevertheless doctors still utilize chemotherapy to fight these tumors.” (Allen Levin, MD, UCSF, “The Healing of Cancer”, Marcus Books, 1990).

“If I were to contract cancer, I would never turn to a certain standard for the therapy of this disease. Cancer patients who stay away from these centers have some chance to make it.” (Prof. Gorge Mathe, “Scientific Medicine Stymied”, Medicines Nouvelles, Paris, 1989)

L.A. Reservoirs Closed After Carcinogen Is Found

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Two reservoirs that supply drinking water to parts of the city have been shut down and will be drained after a rare sunlight and chlorine reaction tainted the water with a cancer-causing chemical, utility officials said Friday.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power plans to drain 600 million gallons from the reservoirs, the Elysian and the Silver Lake, early next year, said a water department spokesman, Joseph Ramallo. The reservoirs will be out of use for three to four months amid drought conditions....READ ON >>>

Lack of sunlight linked to higher lung cancer risk
LACK of sunlight may increase the risk of lung cancer, according to a new study.
While smoking was most strongly associated with lung cancer rates, exposure to sunlight, especially ultraviolet B light, also seemed to have an impact, according to a report in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health.

The researchers looked at the association between latitude, exposure to UVB light, and rates of lung cancer according to age in 111 countries....READ ON >>>
