Living in the Now

I’ll admit given today’s hectic lifestyle it is not easy living in the “now” without worrying about the future or fretting over the past.

It probably took me a week into this vacation before I arrived in the now but what an amazing place to be.

We’ve been so busy, swimming, diving, hiking, traveling to exotic beaches and overall just living in the present that about a week ago all of the sudden I realized that I had no idea what day of the month it was and even better yet, what day of the week it was!

It’s said that true happiness can only be found in the present, the only place you will ever be.

How do you live in the “now?”

I believe by being more aware of and appreciating every moment to the fullest and realizing that the greatest most precious things in life truly are free.

The beautiful smile and inspiring company of a close friend, sun rays warming your face on a cool winter day or just the realization of the magical process that keeps your heart pumping and your lungs working effortlessly every day of your life without any effort at all on your part.

If consciousness is “being aware” then raise yours by using all of your senses to experience to the fullest every moment of every day.

It’s OK to use calendars, appointment books and day planners as tools for reminding us of our future moments but just remember that happiness does not live in a place of which you will never be.
